Verify the length by using a ruler or laying the measuring tool flat and measuring it using a smartphone application.

FOR RINGS:

Use a piece of string or paper and wrap it around the base of your finger.
Mark the point where the string or paper meets and measure it with a ruler.
Compare the measurement to a sizing chart to find your ring size.
